Dogs Off Chains is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded for the purpose of working toward the elimination of chaining as a primary means of confinement for dogs. All donations go directly toward helping individual dogs through our free-fencing program. We provide materials and volunteer labor to build free fences for dogs living on chains. In addition, with the help of low cost spay/neuter clinics in the area, we facilitate the spay/neuter and vaccinations for each dog receiving a fence, including transportation to and from the clinic — all at no cost to the dog’s guardian. We also provide doghouses and other miscellaneous items where needed. We work to educate communities regarding dogs’ needs and the negative impact of chaining them. Thus, we have witnessed an elevation of the standard of care for dogs in entire neighborhoods.
